Giving the 81 CBX some love

Post by Irishman1 »

While working on my 79 CBX and my 80 CBX restoration I’ve neglected my prolink. It’s my favorite bike to ride so I keep riding it while keeping everything else ship shape.
The previous owner installed this aftermarket luggage case which was a dull, silver color so I painted it a silver as close to the original Perseus Silver I could find. Metal flake black for the stripes and red pin stripping. Still need to lay a few more coats of clear.

Nice job on the top case. I remember Bill Brint of TIM's CBX has an 81 with a color matching topcase. Always thought it would be a good thing to have. I am a little spoiled having one from my BMWs. They come in handy for a longer trip with a passenger.
I have larger saddlebags on my 81 but the topcase would be cool.
