Re: Rocketman's CBX
No argument here. I wished I could have bought the whole bike but you know how that goes.
I have seen a lot of really bad parts being sold for big dollars. In some cases I have spent more restoring a pay than if I had bought it in good condition in the first place, but where's the fun in that...lol.
I have been trying to save a 79, she is parked in the sun next to a guys house. it's all there but extremely weathered. plastic wiring connectors are rotted from sun exposure.
A lot of guys go to eBay and base value of what they have on what eBay reflects. So parts and bikes are inflated.
Guy won't sell it. thinks he is going to restore it yet it sits in the sun going on two years now since I first saw it and heaven knows how long before that.
When this stops being a hobby then it's time to quit. right now I enjoy the work and there is no better sound than a well tuned CBX.
When I start the next project I am sure I will have request for parts.

Mike:
You have a real talent for this - not many do. If you chose to do a restoration from time-to-time, it'll not get tiresome and you'll make a couple of bucks too. I figure I've made decent wages on the 6 or so restorations I've done, and put them back on the road when they were destined for the parts bins. Looking forward to hearing you progress on #365! I know where #77 is if you might be interested.

Re: Rocketman's CBX
looks like #77 has been listed on ebay!
wished I had the cash to buy it.
Looks like a good one to restore.

Re: Rocketman's CBX
Yep, that's the one. I am really not in a position to buy it now either. The seller has offered it to me several times. Probably regret not buying it.

Re: Rocketman's CBX
Probably depends what he wants for it. Bidding is at $3,500, reserve not met. And it may need quite a few cosmetics, based upon ones personal preferences.

Re: Rocketman's CBX
The first ad does not show up in my search. Dunno what's up with that, but no bids on either. It's not a bad price for a decent runner as-is, but #77 is worthy of a complete restoration and that's just a bit too much for me to justify doing that at this time. Bike does have 50K miles on it.
