Re: 6x6 exhaust for my 80 X
Thanks you Steve! I'm happy with the way it turned out. I would like to change the outlets but for now I would like to ride the old girl for a while. The project took way too long... but I finally got a 6 into 6 for my X!

Do you mean you removed the carbs, or does the exhaust have to come off for this procedure?80 cbx dude #6216 wrote:Removed the exhaust and shimmed all the needles .5 mm, set the idle mixture screws 1.5 turns out. WOW! Great throttle response all the way up to red line!! I'm one happy dude!!-Mike
Either way, very glad to hear that you're happy with how it's running!

Yes Phil, I had to remove the exhaust, tip the motor forward so the tops of the carb caps would clear the frame. Thanks Wyly!!-Mike

Re: 6x6 exhaust for my 80 X
You didn't have to do all that - the carb tops will come off with the carbs and engine intact.
