Steering stem bearings.

Post by steve murdoch icoa #5322 »

Does anyone know the difference in the upper steering stem bearing in the '79 and '80 model.
According to the parts catalog the lower bearing is the same but the upper bearing has a different number from '79 to '80.
Thanks for any info, guys.

The upper bearing for the '80-'82s is thicker, I think. If you look at the underside of the top clamp for the '80 and the '81-'82, it is cut out more to allow for the thicker bearing. That's my recollection, may be a bit off but something like that.
