Rally Announcement (also on front page)
The CBX club will be hosting its national meeting at a brand new motorcycle museum facility in Newburgh, NY.
There is a block of rooms reserved for attendees at the Days Inn at Fishkill, NY. The hotel details are:
http://www.daysinn.com/hotels/new-york/ ... l-overview
telephone (845) 896 4995. The rate for a king or double room is $76 per night, mention ICOA or CBX club to get this rate. Normal rate at the hotel is $99 so we are getting a nice price break!
They have ample parking, and are located just across the Newburgh/Beacon bridge across the Hudson river from Newburgh. Please get your room reserved soon so we can keep a total count going and plan accordingly. Hope to see
you there!
Check out: http://motorcyclepediamuseums.com/ for more details on the
museum. It is a very large display of motorcycles, sure to stir a memory or
two!
On the 8th, the main meeting day, there will be a little tech session and
time to tour the museum in the morning, CBX'ers will get a discounted entry
rate. Then we will provide different options for lunch (please note we will
NOT be providing lunch) and then if the weather is nice, the show will be
arranged outside in the parking lot. There will be different classes:
Early Stock, Early Modified, Early Custom. Late model stock, Late model
Modified, Late model Custom. There will also be a class Super Modified and
Custom. Last class will be non-CBX. If it rains, this show will be held
indoors at the ground level of the museum. Please let us know if you are
attending, and if you will be entering a bike in the show. After the bike
show, we will arrange (weather permitting) a ride to the river front, and
again dinner places will be suggested for Friday night. On Saturday there
will be options, either go on a local ride in the area, (some nice riding
roads and places to visit like Bear Mountain park) Dennis McCartney has some nice route suggestions or go up to Rhinebeck or
Americade to combine the trip. Sunday is departure day.

Re: Rally Announcement (also on front page)
Jan or to whom it may concern,
I belong to several other MC forums that have some CBX owners as members, would you like me to post the CBX NATIONAL Rally Information on them? I'm sure some of their members will be going anyway for the other festivities going on that week and some that may just want to meet with other CBXer's.
Let me know, no time to waste, people's calendars are booking fast for the summer.

Re: Rally Announcement (also on front page)
Please do, Jeff. The more the merrier, I hope that by piggy-backing on two big motorcycle events, it will encourage more to stop in. Realistically it is only one day of activities, but it is at a great new museum, by itself worth a trip, and we are guaranteed dry space even if the weather turns, so please everyone, start booking your trip!
So far 3 people have confirmed... I have already block-booked 20 rooms hoping to be able to book another 5-10!

Re: Rally Announcement (also on front page)
This is going to be a blast. I've just booked my room - Arriving Thursday 6/7 leaving on Sunday 6/10. I will likely trailer (the shame, it burns) a couple of bikes, including my CBX.
Looking forward to meeting you guys in person after all this time.

Re: Rally Announcement (also on front page)
P.S. The woman found the discount and the block of rooms specifically under "ICOA", no reference to CBX at all.

One down and one to go, I got a PM from a fella that lives in Newburgh and he said that it looks like the Rally has all the bases covered, I invited him down for the day and asked if he would be interested in leading a ride, see what happens?Jeff Bennetts wrote:Jan or to whom it may concern,

Re: Rally Announcement (also on front page)
Dennis McCartney is organizing rides, and he has other locals helping him. Any local assistance will be appreciated. We also need some volunteers for judging on Friday.
