STOCK PIPE PROBLEM (RUST)

Post by LOUIS »

Has anybody repaired a set of stock pipes where they are known to rust. I thought of stanless steel type of patch? The pipes that I have are in mint shape except they are starting to rust. I would like to know if this would work or any other type of repair. THANKS LOUIS

When I removed the pipes from my 79 for some winter cleaning I noticed they had a patch on the underside just past the collector (towards) the muffler. My welder says its stainless and was a professional job that should last and last. The area is diamond shaped and about 3"x3". Can't see it unless you look underneath. BTW I am in need of a clutch perch with a non wobbly (screw hole). Have one? :)
