Cartridge Emulators on an 80 CBX

Post by Samelak »

I picked up a set of gold cartridge emulators and springs from RaceTech. I have never taken a set of forks apart but I'm mechanically capable. Is there someone on the site who has installed these before and could walk me through the process? I need to put the kit in and replace seals/dust covers. I've looked at the instructions, but they are not quite straight forward.

Lee, I'm certain that Racetech turned some adapters to match up the gold valves with the tops of the damper rods when they did mine. Call them up and see if you can get the dimensions of the adapters. The rest of teh installation is pretty straightforward - drill the damper rods, chamfer, reassemble and set the oil height.
