I can sent you my homemade one (on the right):

If you get frisky about making one, do yourself a favor and sacrifice a 1 1/8 socket, and not the 1 1/16 I used. This was a 45 min project with the Dremel and some cutoff wheels.

obThreadDrift, have you torqued your steering head yet? See the wisdom on that in the '80 manual supplement: It is easy to overlook checking in that supplement and it has a very specific procedure that will indeed work perfectly.

This is the entire Honda set that was mentioned in a recent thread (but it does NOT include the clutch hub nut tool), and it is available for loan (hey are you a club member yet? :D):

Just let me know, I can have it in a Priority Mail envelope tomorrow.

Admin note!

I split this topic and put the clutch bolt-related stuff in the 'engines' technical topic.

i am curious about the photo above. when it mentions "this is the full set" does that mean just for the steering head? or is this also the tools required for removing the funky nuts on the swing arms etc. i have gotten motor out and electrics off, batt box out. just need to remove triple trees and rear suspension and then frame can go in for media blasting. i think there are rather specific tools to do both that i do not have???

thanks a lot!

Kent, I see that you're a member. ZXBob has custody of my tools at the moment, including some other gems for removing and installing steering head bearings. You PM him your mailing address and he'll mail them to you. You then hold on to them till the next member needs them or I ask for them back. Shipping's on you for the next usage, within North America.

Brief comment here, be sure to torque the hub nut by the book as opposed to simply using an impact wrench like most shops do.

Hey Barry,

Yes, I have my tools back, and you are welcome to use them. Do you want the entire set? What projects are you undertaking? PM me your address and I'll get them on the way.
