Delkevics on the cheap

Post by Terry »

I see on ebay that one seller is besting the others by FIVE HUNDRED dollars for the identical set of pipes delivered! Just FYI.

There you go, one is from Delkevic with the pipes already in Colorado and one is from steelesnewparts who doesn't say where they are (China?)

Not at you Terry, at my timing, with my set in the attic. C'est la guerre, but this may be one of the only times I can think of when vintage parts got CHEAPER.

Still, it's good...

I do not think a set of originals (NOS) will be cheaper. Some guys still want the real thing for that perfect restore.

Has anyone tried these at this price, $1,370 TYD? Still thinking here...as they surely won't get any cheaper right?

There are two possibilities: Either the exchange rate changed and they recalculate the selling price, or they see that the price of $1,500+ is not attractive to many buyers and they don't sell much.

For one thing, the pipes are listed as being in Colorado, not China. That alone knocks $200 from S&H. $300 off what others are asking may be a clue as to why they're not selling. They're (not) selling at $1,870 are they? Also noticed that Delkevic and Steelesnewparts have the same lower price in most ebay ads now.

More than anything else, I suspect that the advent of the new Sankei pipes with the correct HM422 markings on them has lowered the prices for the Delkevics . . . . who would pay more for them than the new ones with correct markings?

But is anyone actually selling the Sankeis for a competitive price? Six Center maybe? Personally, if they're the same, with or without the HM 422 stamping I wouldn't care if mine were made by Sankei or Delkevic.

"Order Now Price E 999,00 euros excluding 19%TAX" from Six Center

What's that work out to be in US dollars, and what is S&H?

This is $1,400 plus approx $200.- shipping. Shipping parts from Europe has become a nightmare. No regular mail anymore for items that large.
I just shipped a box from Germany that weighed 18 lbs and paid 52 Euro, which is $75.-

Got an email reply from SixCenter that says they'll charge $1,600+ TYD for a set plus 5% if you use paypal.

So, $1,600+ from SixCenter $1,870 for (some) Delkevics or $1,370 for other Delkevics, depending on who you order from.

$1,370 is sure better than $1,600+ or $1,870 eh?

I could probably get them shipped here for an economic rate via our freight forwarder in a container. Problem is, if I have them shipped to my address in Germany, I have to pay that outrageous VAT of 19% on top of the 999.- Euro. Bottom line, you are NOT getting a brand new, real original look CBX exhaust for under $1,500.-. And, quite frankly, you shouldn't, IMHO. 8)

Well, $1,370 delivered (is) less than $1,500 and why, by the way, (shouldn't) someone get a brand new, real original look CBX exhaust for under $1,500 :?: :?
