Shim and Tool Source

Post by Ed Townsend »

After pricing a valve adjusting tool and shims at the local dealer I'm looking for less expensive sources. Any recommendations? TIA

Ed,

Kawasaki uses the same shims and there are a few tuners around for them and more plentiful, I went to a local shop here and the guy had boxes of used shims and he let sit down with my micrometers and pick some out, I believe he charged me $.5-$1.00 each but that was 3 years ago and I'm not sure of the price but it wasn't much. The tool can be had from either Tim's or J.C. Whitneys a bunch less that Honda. Good luck,
