there's an ebay listing requesting $5K for Z with what the owner admits has hydralock. is there any chance of a sale at that price?

It doesn't hurt to hope. I wouldn't give him $2000 for it.

I certainly wouldn't buy it thinking I could rebuild it, the internal damage could be extensive, you can still buy a running z for 5k...

for 2k I would think you could recover that in salvageable parts, a good rust free tank is worth at least 500, a tail cowl 400...

Unfortunately, in about 2 weeks, i think you will see that bike in pieces on the same site.

yeah it's probably destined to be an organ donor... but the parts will keep a number of others on the road...
