aftermarket gas tanks.

Post by wyly »

While on vacation in europe I dropped into Six Center Motoren and was given a tour of CBX heaven. In my chat with Bert we discussed the growing scarcity of rust free tank (Louis has told me the same). Bert is in discussion with a manufacturer to build reproduction tanks, something we'd all appreciate .
CBX a work in progress, still improving...GS1150EFE completed and awaiting modifications.....RD350, remnants in boxes scattered throughout the garage

Not a good way to start your day, when your own bike is parked.

Six Center is like entering the CBXer's Vatican. The virtual tour is an older photo , his workshop he has even more engines stacked up there now, and then there was the warehouse with even more goodies. He even keeps one engine dedicated solely for testing rebuilt carbs, you can see it in the virtual tour a very professional approach when I compare it to the shop that rebuilt my engine.

I was very impressed with his technical knowledge, he gave me some good advice on my rebuild.

There's a carb rebuilder who visits here a lot, who used to have a dedicated bike to test his carb jobs. Don't know if he still does that, but Six Center isn't the only class act.

Either garage is too small or we have too many bikes. Or Momma's car needs to go outside.
