Looking good, Paul
One thing that always bugged me, when I still lived in Europe, were these huge license plates the authorities made us put on the bikes...

I know. They really ruin the look of these bikes & the one on mine is a couple of inches smaller than the legal size !

If you need a new battery, get an AGM. The pipes look great - hope they went on well.

Congrats Paul - I've been out on mine about 6 times in the last 2 weeks and I'm loving it!

The pipes were a perfect fit which makes a pleasant change, a few lbs heavier than the old pipes though. Was thinking of getting one of these ??
http://www.motorcycleproducts.co.uk/bat ... 30419.html Its the one they recommend for the "79 but they do have others with higher CCA ?

Can't see my other bikes getting a "look in" this year though. We'll have to arrange a ride & meet up sometime soon. Cheers, Paul.

Motobatts are good. I have a few in some other bikes.
One thing you may want to consider: Most bikes that are specified for the CBX leave quite a bit of empty space in the battery case. Honda originally used a spacer to make up for this.
If you use an early 80s Goldwing battery, it will fit the battery compartment better and has a few more CCAs. Take some measurements and check the battery dimensions.

Great advice, thanks for that

If you use a bigger battery and get rid of the spacer, make sure your positive terminal is well insulated, the battery is mounted solidly, or both. Otherwise, the terminal may hit the frame. That would make a big mess.
PS: I'm assuming my 81 battery and a 79 battery are similarly mounted.

I bet the ride felt great even with the little issues.
What sort of noise are getting from the shocks?
