We got 14 inches of snow in Minnesota today,it's going to be a long winter.
Good thing I have a walkout basement where I keep my CBX until spring , at least I can go in the basement sit on the seat .

Spent the last Sunday with my nephew rebuilding front forks. All stripped cleaned and put back together. Went to put fork brace on and discovered that it was pulling the forks in by a poofteenth which would account for the dreaded strict ion that was making riding so uncomfortable and dangerous. Took the X for a spin, new bike. Well worth a Sunday arvos effort. Thanks to my nephew who supervised the surgery.

Riding season is over for me.[insert sad face here]
Brought the '81 inside to work on.
Nothing too major i hope....carb cleaning, valve adjustment, fork oil and probably brakes.

I took a call from my machinist about my custom triples - other than that, I just daydreamed about it.

I miss that bike!

I, always, like the way Steve-O decorates. What style, what sense of proportion ! Bellissima !
The snow looks like it's here to stay, so the gas was drained from my carbs & tank last weekend :? I'll put a bit of oil into the bores this week.
I'm just shy of 10,000km. for the summer. Rats, it sure felt like I did more.
Sooooo, looking at basic stuff this winter: valve clearance check, oil/filter, clean/oil the carb filters, and a synch come the spring. Like that, you know ?
Hell, even my tires still look fresh.

At the same time, make sure you get proficient in changing front fork seals. You will do that a lot. 8)

Hi Guys,
Spent all day trying to start my '82, to my disgust the starter clutch is disengaging and the starter just spins on it's own. I think this might cause a motor split to get to the little sucker, if anyone has a remedy for this without splitting the motor I will forever be in your debt.

I hesitate to ask, but what oil are you using?

I am using a Shell mono grade oil. I got this advise from someone who has restored four x's in the past
