Damn work is getting in the way of me riding my CBX!!! Grrrr! Went out for a quick trip late at night.... love the red glow from the speedo/tacho/ampmeter... lovely... just can't get enough of that sound coming from the engine!!!! The more I ride it the more I appreciate the talent/lack of fear the guys who raced these must have had!

Including my wife's vehicles, we're at 12 cylinders and 18 wheels. My CBX is the only machine with more cylinders than wheels. :)

Getting there, at any rate. :-) This winter I'm gonna have the exhaust ceramic-coated, and all exposed wiring clad with braided covering.

Very, very nice!

All that work and considerable investment needs crash bars. It's amazing how quickly asphalt will grind through crankcase and camshft covers even at low speed. Not that it ever appened to me.

Spent 8hrs wrestling my carbs and engine into place today. Connected the electrical, oil and carb lines, plug wires, all the gauges and indicators lit up. I was going to put on the exhaust tonight but my back said no more.

Tomorrow, torque up engine mounts, adjust control cables, install 6x6 pipes, gas tank, add fuel and oil....push starter button.

With a lot of luck it'll fire up for the first time in 35 years.

I was able to cross off one item from my project list after directing some attention to my somewhat neglected 1973 Kawasaki H1D. Took the carbs off, cleaned them, adjusted the float levels and the air mix, put new fuel lines on.
Took it for a test ride and was soooooo pleased. The thing ran again like a scalded cat. Another example how rewarding it is to work on your carbs.
Ron, from Purple Haze hot-rodded the engine several years ago, before he passed away. This thing is a wolf in sheep's clothing.
Almost forgot how much fun it is to ride..

I've heard a lot of stories about these two stroke triples.... over here (surely other places too) they were called "Widow-makers" too much power, not enough brakes, suspension and poor frame (funny ... that's what I heard about a certain air cooled Japanese 6 cylinder motorcycle too?)

Looks awesome.....

That Kawi is a beauty.
Talk about polar opposites, the H1 and CBX.
Have you still got the GB to go in yet another direction?
