Re: What did you do to your bike today?
Not today, but this weekend........
Had a go at carb sync - only have a 4 gauge set but figured it should work, if not toallly ideal. Bit of a fiddle but seems like the bike runs a bit better now. Then yesterday afternoon went for a quick run. Contrary to popular belief, we don't have lions running in the streets, but evidently have these guys next to them!

Put new Moto Gear JP titanium pipe on. Looks much better than the older DG that came with the bike and sounds great and not too loud, actually quieter than the DG but throatier. Sounds real nice yet not obnoxious above 6g's.
Material: Full Titanium(6-2-1)
Weight: 4.7kg
Sound Volume: 96db

That pipe looks great.
I like the "angle/flow" to the tail.
Did you have to rejet?

Here is a picture of the front both before and after "seasoning". Obviously a single wall pipe. I would not expect to have to re-jet as my bike already has 115's with a K & N filter in a stock airbox. I have 500 miles before the 7500 mile service check and will be monitoring plug color before it goes to J.R. for service and carb synch. If interested send an e-mail to Takashi Takase @ Samurider.com. I am told he is the owner and was great to deal with. JFBx on the other site has this same pipe FYI.

Re: What did you do to your bike today?
Beautiful !!! I kinda like the rainbow colors ! after getting prices of Ceramic coating from all over the US i just cannot see spending $ 700 bucks to have my Vintage 6-2 RC exhaust with just dull Ceramic even if they vibratory polish, that price is outrages for just Powder coat, so yesterday i finally made the drop off to D&D Chrome and will keep my Local small business and monies instate ! Chrome nickel plate is $700 bucks ,,so F it CHROME IT IS, after 4 years if the chrome shop is good and use nickle and i don't run my bikes lean by starting my jetting with slow jet increase first and then needle adjustment my hope is to have they same results as this exhaust shown om my 1978 CB after 4 years of riding

Re: What did you do to your bike today?
hey guys
dumped the amsoil synthetic for honda GN4. changed out the clutch friction discs with a set from tims along with his HD springs (only used 3). adjusted the clutch and works great now. why do all this? didn't like the shift from first to second, a good clunk when changing gears. gonna do the same thing next on my VFR.

Re: What did you do to your bike today?
So this past Sunday our local un-club, (Tucson Vintage Motorcycle Riders) held its 6th annual Vintage Bike Show, and I brought my CBX, my H2, and my recently completed CB400F. Somewhat chagrined to discover that there was a single class for Japanese motorcycles, I found myself watching from a distance as one judge in particular went back and forth between the CBX and the 400 for a solid 15 minutes, apparently trying to make up his mind which one he liked best. I was competing with myself!
Much to my delight, the lovely 400F took first in the category! (There were no runners-up).
I got a swell trophy, and a ribbon. It was great fun

Well done, Nils.
To the victor goes the spoils. haha.
The 400F are fun little bikes. Having owned a bunch of them over the years yours looks great.
Is there a thread somewhere on the resto? www.sohc4.net?

Re: What did you do to your bike today?
Thank you guys. There is indeed a thread on SOHC, 17 pages long. This project had its surprises courtesy of the APO, but I learned a ton, enjoyed it a lot, and the bike is indeed pretty darned sweet .
