All:

I'm about to buy the Sikaflex 552 adhesive Wim recommends for installing the rubbers. As far as I can find, the black version (I'm assuming that's what we'd want vs white) only comes in a 2-tube pack, for around $50. Each tube would do a dozen sets, I'm sure, but would it keep after being opened (it looks like you use it in a caulking gun)? Anyway, I'll probably keep the one I open, but would anyone be interested in the other one? It'd be a shame to waste all that expensive glue.

I considered other products, 3-M has a couple of adhesives that would probably work, but I'm not into being a pioneer here. Might as well follow the instructions exactly and get the known result.

Dave
I'll be happy to take the second one and then pass it on once I've done my 2 sets.

***** First post of this thread is edited as of 3/22/2014 - FYI *****

I am now over the top - have 25 sets spoken for. Going to offer it as well to folks on CBXWorld that haven't already purchased, and if someone would be kind enough to relay this to the Brewer list, I'd be happy to include any orders from them too. Just send them the link to the first page in this thread and ask them to email me.

I will also offer the cyanoacrylate glue that Barry used very successfully, it's not cheap but will fit in a small box along with the rubbers And so won't cost any more for shipping to include. Expecting somewhere around $20 for a .8 oz tube which Barry thinks will do several sets.

Should be ready to launch this in another week I think.

Alright! Kudos to Nils for pulling this off! I am in for a tube of glue also. What I don't need for the pegs will go towards fixing shoes... :violin: :laughing-rolling:

Update:

I got an email from Louis today, letting me know (as some of you saw when he posted it here a little while ago - but the post was deleted) that he is also producing these parts (but doesn't have them yet), and intends to sell them for less then this group buy. I told him that he should relay that to both websites right away, as I have not yet taken firm orders or collected money.

So you may have an opportunity through Louis to buy these for less - but I can't speak for him, nor the product. You should probably contact him directly and make your plans accordingly, no worries on my part.

So, are you holding back with the order? For my part, I will stick to my commitment and would love to see you go ahead, rather than waiting for something that I don't know what it will look like and when it will be available. 8)

Yes, definitely going ahead with all that want them with Wim, no hard feelings whatsoever if folks want to wait and see. Will do a final tally end of next week and get them ordered.

I too will stand by my commitment. But, it would be interesting to see both sets, side by side, after a couple of years wear and tear.

Either garage is too small or we have too many bikes. Or Momma's car needs to go outside.

I'll change my order to two sets plus the glue since I can use two now. I'll get the third one from Louis later.
