Here is an interesting CB1 engine serial number. I must admit, I have never seen one like this. Anybody has?

Steve: That's the way replacement engine housings came from Honda. Some countries require the engine number documented in the title/paperwork . This way, an engine could be repaired - after throwing a rod, for example - and the number would be restamped and match the original.
I remember from my years in Germany, that CB1 motors were not available for replacement after mid 1979. If you needed a new motor/case you would get a SC03 unit.
