Re: Last ride of the season?
Hi Steve,
I would be able to hold a pint no probs, but i'm on very strong antibiotics and painkillers so cannot drink
Ah well give it a few weeks, and I will be able to make up for it.
Cheers

Re: Last ride of the season?
As far as pints, there are always crazy straws and beer helmets but getting back to NAKED..... I like my 82 Naked and Fully Dressed, I think the decal idea is great for the naked but I couldn't bring myself to place or misplace a decal on my $500 tank. This got me thinking..... you can buy a flexible magnet sheet and stick the decals to it then trim around them, then stick some thin felt on the back. Put them on for naked and pull off for fairing. You could even have different sets.

Re: Last ride of the season?
As the, weak, fall sun slinks below the horizon beyond Stately Common Manor, I take a well-deserved moment to raise a single malt to my fellow Six Maniacs, and the riding season that is quickly wrapping up.
I'm just in from what just might be my last romp on the 'X' in 2013
I never saw more than 4C. on the thermometer. In fact, when I took the photo (alongside Lakeshore blvd.) it had dipped down to 3C. Thank God for heated vests and grips
So there it is ,Steve-O, and Mike...pic for pic as it stands. Though, I'm not yet ruling out another short run before the snow flies. Hope springs, no pun intended, eternal !
p.s. Sorry to hear of your woes, Chris. Great planning though as its happened at the end of your riding season too
Here's to a quick recovery lad!
p.p.s. Mike, that 1100 of your looks brand-spanking new! How do you keep it so pristine ?

Phil: How about $3.06 per gallon of gas at the pump? Or no traffic gridlock going one way from 8:00 a.m. to noon and the other way from noon to 8:00 p.m.? Or at least half an acre of land around the house?FalldownPhil wrote:Last ride? End of season? What are you guys talking about??

Re: Last ride of the season?
Thank you for the compliments gentlemen.
As to how many in the USA? Good question that I can't really answer. I heard it rumored that there might be an original in a private collection in Memphis. In the '90's there was a white one from somewhere in Minn. but it has not been seen or heard from in many years. Someone once told me that there was a complete rolling chassis less engine in a basement in Ohio. Preston is building a custom one in FL. Sooooo, I personally have never seen another, especially an original. Preston's is confirmed. Others? Maybe/maybe not. However many, I think that you could count them on a few fingers. I would be very interested to hear of any of these or others.
Very Best,
Phil

Re: Last ride of the season?
No last ride for me, like to keep them rolling even if it means once a month during the winter months. Only dry winter days with no salty roads and must be above 3 degrees Celsius!
Phil, your Martin always looks great.
