'96 BMW R1100R, factory hard bags, Staintune exhaust, ABS model with wire wheels, original green color. It weighs 100# more than her SV650, but carries it low. Has the same HP as the SV but double the torque. She's a bit apprehensive about it, as she's used to wringing the neck of the little SV, and is afraid the R will jump out from under her.

Either garage is too small or we have too many bikes. Or Momma's car needs to go outside.

Something similar to this. Green must be rare color. Could not find a pic of one. Then again, BMW has the weirdest colors and names for them of any bike manufacturer. The Bavarian designers must have too much beer in their lunch allowance....Rick Pope wrote:'96 BMW R1100R, factory hard bags, Staintune exhaust, ABS model with wire wheels, original green color. .

Yep, that's the color, but it looks more blue in the picture. Do you know if that's a factory windscreen in the picture? There are two windshields that came with it, one's ugly, the other is worse.

Rick, I am not sure, if BMW ever made a windshield for the R. Most of them are aftermarket and most of them are ugly. They are designed to be efficient, not to look good...
