Ray, there is a good chance that would happen, if you tried to ski around where you live right now.....

There is some good skiing here in So Cal over the winter {even in Los Angeles}, we have some decent elevation along the Angeles Crest.
They have snow up in the hills until June or July sometimes.
I don't bend or flex the way I did when I was young and being I am a knucklehead, I would no doubt try to bomb a hill real fast and do a Sonny Bono breaking my neck killing myself accidently. There is no reason to go if I can't go fast, so I will stay off of the skiis. :P

For my 50th birthday, Susan and I spent a week in a cabin near Winter Park, CO, skiing, sightseeing, and snow mobiling. Now, 8 years later in January, we're going to do the same, with more emphasis on the snowmobiling. I'm sure I can still ski just fine, but it's been a while and will take a couple of days to get back in tune.

There a small ski area just 5 nmiles from our house, so we can get wqarmed up there.

Either garage is too small or we have too many bikes. Or Momma's car needs to go outside.

So that's where our Winter Rally is going to be?

That's a possbility. It gets really crowded on weekends, and it costs more for a day pass than Vail. Location, location......

Last year's Winter Meet went well, we could do a repeat and I'd be happy with that too.

Or, perhaps we should return to Columbus, OH?

We could do a riding winter meet in Texas. I'd be all over that. Big Bend or the Hill Country are great for spring break. Sorta late for a winter meet though.

Rick:
Yes, I suppose we should actually be seriously talking about a Winter Rally, or two, or three. Wes and Cindy and Diane and I are going to the Vegas auction(s) - there are two now - in early January. Larry had expressed some interest as well. Not a particularly expensive trip if you can get reasonable airfare. Don't suppose you and Susan will be doing that, though, if you are going to Colorado also in Jan.

Your area, Columbus, Cleveland are all good for at least us locals to get together for sure. Really like to see others in more temporate climates get together for a riding rally or two during the winter. Anyone out there in FL, Gulf Coast. TX, NM, AZ, CA willing to organize something?

If this thread hi-jack gets going, we should move it to the appropriate topic.

Talk soon.

Last week in January or first week of February, we plan our annual outing to Key West. If a Winter rally will be somewhere on the way down there, we'll be in. Don't think I would be able to make a trip to Las Vegas in addition.

Ok, I'll play too.
Looking, for awhile, at the calander, it seems I've attained 54 years chronologically. I usually feel like I'm still 18, most folks say that's how I act.
Today, however, I feel a BUNCH older (see photo )

Damn, the SR500 is finally ready to sell off, but I'm still not well enough to dig into the 'X'. I mean, I can hear it out there mocking me :x
Parts arrive most days, the weather gets colder, perfect to kick off winter projects. Still, the doc says I have to wait a bit more.
Its not like I'm getting any younger :(

I'm 72 and currently have only one cycle, a very original '82 CBX. I rode it about 60 miles today and it took 3 hours for the grin to go away.
