How Old Are You?
I have always been curious about the owners' ages in relation to certain Honda models so if you own a CBX........duh...........how old are you and are you retired?

Re: How Old Are You?
OK, I am 59 and retired in 2004, I have had all but three or four of my bikes registered and on the road at one time or other.
My first bike was a 65 Honda S90 that my dad bought late in 1964 and my second was the first CB350F delivered to Kansas City in 1972, I stepped away from the hobby for a while to raise kids and fight the divorce wars. I returned to all my hobbies after retirement and I now have nine tagged and I try to ride them all at least a couple times per month with my favorites being the CBX's and the CB350F. It's hard to pick a favorite as they are in my collection as part of my obsession. The only ones that were a casual purchase are the 84 VF700S, 80 CB750C that my last wife now owns and the #2 82 CB750K & 79 CB750K that were junk when I brought them home and a real challenge as you can see: http://www.spookytoms.com/SpookyTom-750-82B-B&A.html & http://www.spookytoms.com/SpookyTom-750-79-09.html.
Your turn.........

Re: How Old Are You?
I doubt that we could give this youth (Nils) any advice ! he's still too young to listen ! i went thru some
of the same things you did (divorce) but after a divorce (many lawyers ) I GOT MARRIED for the second time !
same Woman !!!!!!! after all ,she knows how to ride a BIKE ! i let her ride my 900 shortly after i finished it 16+ years ago .
She came back with a handful of tickets ! need to finish her 550 real soon ! Since you went first, young man, i am 61 !

I never grew up and see it as a splendid gift..........even though women I have known never quite appreciated it!

Re: How Old Are You?
i've tried not to grow up either , but eventually , ..it happens ! i do my best not to relinquish my juvenile tendencies
and women still don't know where i'm coming from , but where the leather jacket fails , the bike prevails !
( my Wife still won't ride passenger)

Re: How Old Are You?
well i guess that makes me the "rookie" at 48. and as the "rookie" i am learning that these bikes do eat into any potential retirement fund pretty quick. trying to go slow and due a fastidious job but i just want to get on this thing and ride it as i have yet to ride one of these beasts. and yes Nils, i will figure out how to post some pics so you can see where I'm at.

57 and trying to ease into retirement. Having too much fun at my occupation to walk away, but need more time to ride.
Finally got to the point where I no longer work for the money, so work is a LOT more fun.

Re: How Old Are You?
How does the age relate to the CBX....
O.K., here we go: I was in my last year (months) in school when news of the CBX broke. One of my colleague students brought a brochure to class (his father had a Honda dealership) It showed a close-up of the exhaust header area of the motor on the front page and the caption: "Die Brust einer großen Versuchung". I was totally smitten. Had to go to a dealer when they had their first bike. Started my first job on March 1, 1978 and got my brand-new CBX in November. It had been sitting in the dealership since August of 1978. Still have it. 33 years now. So I was 6 when I got it. True.
