Re: Mecum Motorcycle Auction Videos
Big thanks for the video!! Was a most interesting auction. That '81 sale was incredible. The '82 that went for $10 was just as nice. Thanks, again.

Yes I am wondering what the details are on the 81 for 23k. Must be close to 0 miles? Anyone know about that bike or the collection it came from?

Somewhat interesting too: the '81 had a reserve of $10000. Who knows?!

Re: Mecum Motorcycle Auction Videos
The '81 was not perfect by any means, but nicer than most. It showed 1700 miles and could have been a former school bike. I could have found two excellent Pro-Links for less money than that. And remember, there were TWO guys willing to pay that much!
Generally, the CBXs brought OK money, but not great, except for that '81. I thought a couple of the nicer early bikes might have brought a bit more, but there were no truly excellent ones either.

Re: Mecum Motorcycle Auction Videos
that's amazing price for an '81...difficult to gauge condition watching the sale on the internet and see what the bidders are seeing or not seeing...
CBX a work in progress, still improving...GS1150EFE completed and awaiting modifications.....RD350, remnants in boxes scattered throughout the garage

Re: Mecum Motorcycle Auction Videos
Caught that auction on TV, some amazing sales ! from the Swedish Museum bikes
Did I get this right, a almost new RC30 went for 100 G's while a NR750 sold for a lot less (60's ?)
Also a older Paris Dakar Beemer sold for over 30g's !!!
