It is near impossible. Each one was built for its owner. The dusenbergs of the motorcycle world. So the okay ones might be "restored" but really the person is just paying for serial numbers and mechanicals at that point.
As for the auction bikes, when mine got hit, insurers values my 82 for 8k Canadian there abouts. If I would have known that those would have gone that cheap, I would have flown from sask and bought both. Make a naked out of the 82 and my friend woulda gotten the 79 running and bought it. Hope they were bought by a resto and not just junked.
