WOW - A visit to the Daniel Shoenewald Collection
What a day.
My pal Phil Taber organized an event for a group of his CBX friends: A private tour of his friend Daniel Shoenewald's incredible motorcycle collection, and a visit to the Rock Store to boot. My photos will not do it justice, it was incredible, and Daniel could not have been nicer or more gracious. "Feel free to sit on the bikes, roll it out of the line for a better look, etc." Daniel regularly rides all but a couple of the bikes and has a connection or history or relevance for every one of them - Jake Zemke's bike, Rich Oliver's championship bike, the last (#155) Ben Bostrom replica, one of Miguel Duhamel's bikes, Steve McQueen's Indian, and and and. I fear I will garble it or not do it justice of I go on, but we spent a very happy 3+ hours and it was fantastic. A visit with Ian Foster at the same time was just the icing.
Thank you so much Phil, that was an incredible treat. Thanks also (of course) to our host Daniel Shoenewald, should he wander by. That was fantastic.
All my photos, woefully incomplete, can be found here:

Thank you Nils for coming !! I know it was a long drive in some very ugly weather.
I think that a good time was had by all and Daniel Schoenewald enjoyed it too. Daniel, Ian, and myself
spent some time after the guys had left swapping stories and telling lies. Daniel had some great tales
of some of his times with Otis Chandler. Otis was a billionaire that owned the L.A. Times and an incredible
car and motorcycle collection. Let's do this again sometime
L to R. Myself, Daniel Schoenewald, Ian Foster with a couple of CBX's I brought back to life for Daniel.
Very Best,
Phil

It was an amazing day meeting with the CBXers at Daniel's place. A big thank you to Phil for organising ... some really cool Bikes there.
Also a big thanks to Nils for coming and bringing my CBX-Z engine with him (hauling it from Arizona!) Thanks mate.
I went on up to San.F. and met up with Rod Libby and the SF CBXers ... again a great bunch of guys. My hand is sore from autographing copies of "CBX Book II" ...!!!
Best, IAN
