Caliper torque numbers?

Post by johnod »

I installed a 82 front end on my 79, could someone tell me the torque specs for the caliper mounting bolts please?
There are two different sizes.

Thanks.

Sending you a PM with a link to very high quality text-searchable scans of the FSM. Club Bennie :-).

There probably is a spec, but I don't know anyone that doesn't 'just snug them up'. Not that critical as long as you have any feel for tightening fasteners.

The upper (large) bolt is 25-30Nm (18-22 ftlb), the lower bolt is 20-25Nm (14-18 ftlb). These are the bolts that mount the caliper to the hanger. The bolts that mount the hanger to the fork sliders are 30-40Nm (22-29 ftlb)
