I the passed when I flushed the brakes I always used the Mityvac with good resulst. This time I used a different system on the advise of Arnon Noiman (remember him from Atlanta?)At home he uses a proffessional system using his compressor. As I did not want to spend $200 I went to Harbor Freight (NOT my favorite toolshop !!!) and bought for $30 their Central Pneumatic Brake Fluid Bleeder. We changed the fluid on my two CB1000,brakes and clutch and I found this a lot easier and better than the Mityvac system.Just connect it to your air compressor and it sucks the fluid out of the reservoir and than the bleeding nipples very quickly and no mess.Probably many of you already use this method but some of the newer "mechanics " on the forum might not know about this .Arnon Noiman stayed with us for 8 days and he is a great guy and a superb mechanic.Safe Riding John.

+1 thanks for posting this. I just used my Mityvac on the clutch side of my 95 CB1000 and about to replace the front brake lines w/some Galfer lines. This will be handy for that. As for CBX content, will be flushing the systems on my 79 also.

hey guys

as riding season is ALMOST upon us I am being called on to service not only my bikes but all my buddy's as well. I am looking for a vacuum brake bleeder to hopefully make the job easier. I bought one from Canadian tire up here in Canada for about 80 bucks and it lasted 1 use. this harbour freight one sounds cool and so does the mighty vac. anybody have any recommendations for a good one to use, and not the 200.00 one? I have a compressor so the central one from harbour sounds pretty good, just don't want to buy anymore JUNK.

thanks all!
kent

I have been using a brass one that I bought from Harbor Freight. Been using it for many years and it still works well.
The mighty vac is a brand name and a good unit.
Best,
Phil

Been using a Mity-Vac for years and only issue is the hoses harden over time. But it has been a real time-saver.

Motion pro also makes a tidy little bleeder bag plus a bleeder check valve that looks pretty neat. Still relies on oumping from above, but that works fine most of the time.
