Longer side stand for my 80

Post by dhidaka1 »

I would like a side stand that is a little longer than stock so my 1980 CBX will stand more upright. Any advice on something that would interchange? CB750F of the same year is longer but the bolt/pivot hole is smaller. David

More than likely yours is bent, as mine was (and many other folks').

This is how I tackled it, and it fixed the same problem on my bike - it was leaning way too far over when on the stand.

Good luck!

Good stuff. So good to have a helping hand. I can understand how my side stand could be bent. There is a lot of weight leveraging against it, especially with a human body sitting on the seat while the bike is at rest. I will examine my side stand now that I know how to judge "bent-ness." David

I removed mine today and bent it back like the earler post showed and it straightened my old 79 CBX right back up.
