Parts needed to remove fairing on 81?

What headlight, turn signals, fork ears, etc. work best to convert an 81? I like the look of the fairng, but even with the +5 windshield from Clearview Shields the wind is roaring and buffeting my helmet. (I'm 6'3) A tall fork or handlebar mounted windshield will work better.

The Prolink triple tree will take the headlight bracket from the 1979/80 CBX. The upper and lower brackets have the same attachments. That would be the most "authentic" and cleanest conversion. 8)

Anybody have one? If not i may have to fab a bracket and use another model. Any one have a pic of the mounting bracket? Does it mount on fork ears or bolt to the triple tree? Thanks

The lower triple tree has two holes into which the bracket slides with rubber grommets. The upper mount is with the instrument pod. The headlight ears are integral to the bracket. I will post a picture later today. Your biggets challenge will be to hide all the wires and connectors that are inside the connector box in the Prolink. You can stuff that all into the headlight, but you may need to extend some wires and use different connectors if you want to make it as clean as on the early models.
I suggest you try to find an 8" headlight from an early 80s Suzuki GS1100. This gives you more space inside and it looks good on the CBX also.

...and here is a picture of the Prolink Triple Tree. The lower (silver) has the holes that hold the bottom grommet ends of the bracket and the upper (black) has the protrusions that support the instrument cluster as well as the upper eyes of the headlight bracket.

That answers my question, thanks for the pics. I would like to keep the fairing if I could fit a taller windshield. Mine is a +5 but I have to crouch behind it to get out of the blast.
