Left handle bar grip

How does one remove the left rubber handle bar grip?

The only time I've removed mine, I was replacing them so I cut it off with a knife. After, I cleaned the pipe, used some grip glue and installed new ones.
It ain't the destination, its the journey...

Sometimes, forcing a small end of an air tube underneath and blowing compressed air into the grip helps getting it off without damaging it.
