8)  The one in my 81 shows 80 all the time....If I ever find a matching oil temperature or even better -pressure instrument, I will toss it. They are almost as useless as the altimeter.

autometer z series gauges look good in an x , i have a clock on the 82 they have red needles and white numbers and thay make a gauge for everything . i was thinking about putting oil temp gauges in place of the air temp ...well maybe if i have time ..maybe a winter project oh that's right i have no winter ,,, oh well :D

For an oil temp guage on a CBX, you need a guage that goes up to atleast 300 degrees f. That's usually a transmission oil temp guage. Autometer makes all kinds and it's easy to take an oil galley cap and drill and tap it for the sending unit.

Dan, If they have a hole or an adjustment screw, or you can open them, they can be adjusted......

Hmmm, I would have to look at the mechanism Dan to see how. The easy way is if there is a zero adjustment screw but that may be unlikely as it's an automotive unit (very basic.) Failing that, it would be a pointer reset (pointer off, pointer back on) or a tweak on the anchor point. Send one over to me & I will do it for ya..... (free, only postage required)
