1980 clutch lever

Post by k2suzuki »

My clutch lever broke when I fell without the side stand. I ordered both NOS brake and clutch levers but the clutch did not fit. the left pivot bolt is large and looks to be the same size as the front brake lever pivot bolt hole. I need some help to determine if the lever I have is original or not and if not what to do. This is not a US version bike, it is an international version with sports handle bar and such. Any thoughts will be appreciated.

There were two sizes of lever holes, depending on what year CBX. NOS levers of all varieties are hard to find.

I bought it from Louis. He is looking into it. He thinks that despite being a 1980, it might be 1981 levers.
He told me to measure it and I did as you can see in the photos.

It is some version of a stock CBX perch/lever. Any year perch will fit and work, but the pivot hole is indeed different on the later bikes. Someone may have swapped perches in the past, or Honda started using the later version somewhere in the '80 production.
