Was missing two parts when I bought the bike.
Ring damper, 23821-425-730 and
Guide, damper ring, 23822-MA2-000
The two parts between the sprocket and the little O Ring.

So, I ordered them from CMSNL,
No problem, have ordered from them before and got everything no issues.
But this time they wouldn't release it until I paid another 26 CAN in duty and fees, $7 duty and $20 administration fee.

Give me a break.

You could likely have gotten those parts, used, from Louis here in the US and had them shipped for a lot less than that. Or if you haven't comitted to buying them yet, check Louis out. usedcbxparts.com

I have no idea what's going on with on-line sales right now. ebay just introduced a policy that they will charge "sales tax" for everything that is being sold to the U.K. Effectively eliminating the incentive for any private small business transactions between the U.S. and the U.K.
In addition to the horrific shipping costs.

FWIW, I'm ditching eBay on the 23rd when their policies change again to their favor.

If I can't sell a CBX parts here or other forums, I'll just leave it on the shelf or throw it out.

I installed a new sprocket on my '82 and was not able to use the Ring damper, 23821-425-730 and
Guide, damper ring, 23822-MA2-000 because outer face
of the sprocket is different than the OEM sprocket.
If your sprocket has been changed that may explain
why your bike didn't come with those parts

This is exactly what was on mine when i bought it. I never could install ring damper without adding plumbers washer in between. Last summer i needed to change sprockets and chain and when i compared existing sprocket with new one, it had shoulder on both sides of the sprocket and didn't allow it to go in enough. CBX front sprocket should not have shoulder on the engine side of the sprocket, only on the outside

Here is a OEM front sprocket. Many aftermarket sprockets have no hub on the outside face. If that's the case just use the flat metal outer plate and
eliminate the damper ring and damper ring guide

Got the parts yesterday, and luckily I have the original sprocket, with no shoulder on the engine side of sprocket but with the shoulder on the outside.
Would have been mighty pissed if I had an aftermarket sprocket and paid for these parts only to find out I couldn't use them.
I installed damper and guide, everything fits like a glove.
Is the purpose of the damper to reduce chain noise?
