running on 3 cyls

My 1st run since recommissioning , around 25miles, pulls strongly, stops OK, no vibration to speak of, I thinks carbs need balancing but other than that I was happy with the shake down run.
Went home to adjusted the clutch a little, started her up for another ride but she only fired-up on 3 cylinders (4,5 & 6).
I’ve just replaced the coils, leads, plugs & caps but she is reluctant to start and when she does, again its only on firing on 4,5&6 (and if I touch the throttle it dies instantly)
At this moment in time I have; a good battery, strong spark, clean fuel supply and good compression,
Am I missing something obvious? I’m reluctant to run the engine again for fear of creating damage.
Any advice would be very welcome.

Regards
Edd.

Sorry to say Edd but it sounds like a carb problem.
Probably clogged pilot jets.
Even with it running decent for a while if these tiny orifices aren't completely clean they can easily get clogged.
Some tips for removal. viewtopic.php?t=5507

imho, the best money spent on these brutes is the Mike Nixon carb cleaning manual.

Originally before touching the carbs I looked up as many as possible of the forum Q&As and still ended-up buying Mikes carb book, vapour cleaned them followed by a sonic bath, all new jets, seals etc., cleaned the tank inside, I even filtered the fuel, I will be gutted If a 25 mile run has created a blockage, but Hey-Ho back to the tool box.

Hello Edd,

If you start her up on choke it should run on all 6, the idle jets will only really cause problems below 2,500 rpm.
