Side stand length

Post by Artie »

My 79 leans at tad to far on the sidestand for me,anyone modify for a little more length? Leans over pretty far on a relatively small foot don't you think?
It appears that I can just make a new foot about 1" longer and perhaps a bit bigger in surface area,
Any Ideas?
Thanx In advance!

Lots of info in this thread about straightening it if it is bent.
Have you got longer shocks or a bigger profile rear tire?

As mentioned, your side stand is very likely bent. The rib on it should be perfectly straight and I'm betting yours is not. See the referenced thread on straightening it.
