remove front tire

Post by DevonCbx »

I am wondering if the front tire can be removed without removing the speedometer set screw. The screw is stripped. Can I remove everything else and just unthread the cable at the speedometer housing? I need to have the tire replaced.

Thanks

Get a reverse drill bit and it will back itself out pretty quickly once you get most of the head drilled through.

The wheel should come out without taking the cable off. Once out of the forks, you should be able to slide the axle out and leave the drive on the bike. Of course, you can loosen the cable at the instrument to give it more slack.
