Hi Mike,

If you are willing to post to the UK I would be interested in a couple of sets.

Cheers

No problem, I'll get them to any CBX'r that needs them.

Soon as I get them and am happy with them I'll post it like Nils did with the foot pegs.

I placed an order for 150 of these , that's 75 sets minus the 5 sets I'll keep for the bikes I need them for.... so 70 sets will be available.

I'f we need more I am sure I can get another 150 seals .

I just put my entire shift linkage back together and put the cover on last night. I am assuming the these felt washers end up on the shift lever shaft, on the outside and help keep oil from leaking out of the hole that did not look like it had an oil seal. I really never gave that part much thought but now I'm thinking you can count me in for two sets. I'll keep watching to see when they come in.

Just an update guys. Still on track and waiting on delivery.

Those who have expressed an interest in the seals and stated how many will be at the top of the list. I will be able to order more.

Finally got the felt washers...but I can't let them go.
They are very flimsy felt, tear very easily and are to thick.

I have new measurements for the felt washer. 18mm id x 21mm od x 1.5mm. I think this will be the ideal size. The material will have to be a dense felt compared to the flimsy loose felt washers I was sent.

I tried a number of ways to fit them but have no confidence in the reliability of their performance.

I am in contact with the company working on a solution that will keep originality intact.

Now, if we want to go high tech they have a viton o-ring That would take the place of the felt washer.

Mike:

Too bad about the felts - thanks for keeping at it! About replacing them with O-rings - I have tried that and realized that the intent with the felt was to have some grease impregnate the felt and offer little resistance when rotating the shifter. A o-ring won't behave like that and will 'stick', not permitting smooth rotation of the shifter. Felt is the way to go, if your guys can come up with something.

Not necessarily. There are coated O-rings that provide a nice "slip". The coating is originally intended to ease installation on some applications, but may work here.

I'll be sending a felt washer from my bike to the gasket company so I suspect this will take some time but well worth it as these will come in far less expensive than what we are seeing on ebay.
