Candy apple red painters

Post by ajs350 »

I'm thinking of re-painting my 79 and I just saw this add on e-bay which seems very reasonable. Has anyone used this painter? Did the color look the same as the original?
Thanks
Ross

Ross:
He's done a silver fender and tail for me a couple of years ago. Work was good, silver may have had just a bit too much metallic, but it matched the original tank pretty well. I've never seen his red in person - would really like to. Maybe he would do just a fender for you and you could see how it matched. He was a good guy to deal with.

Boxed up The Travesty's body parts and they are off to Mark for painting. I'll post pics of Mark's work when I get them back...about three weeks.

He has mine as we speak. He should be done with mine in 2-3 weeks. I have heard nothing but great comments about his paint. Only negitive is to do it in the winter because it takes him time to get them back to you. I am in no hurry. His prices are great also.

My newly painted parts arrived from Mark this week and I have to tell you I was a bit nervous opening the box wondering what the paint would look like. I need not have worried as it is fabulous. It has transformed the bike from a nice runner to one that looks like it just came out of the showroom.
Here's some pics but remember the color shown here is a bit more on the orange side than it is in real life.

Gorgeous. I've heard nothing but happiness about his work. Mind sharing what it cost Ross?

He did my candy red and did a great job. He is top notch and the price is reasonable. About 1/2 of what some others are and I am sure just as good or better. It is perfect. :twocents-02cents:

Mark painted the Travesty.

In my perils with the Travesty I allowed the clutch cable to slap the side cover and ding it. I sent it to Mark and he repaired it no charge.

I have a spare set of bodywork that I will send him but haven't decided if I want Candy Glory Red , Black or custom color.
