Engine Case to Crankshaft Pairing

Post by Spooky#1 »

(That should read...."Engine Case to Crankshaft Pairing")
I have two 80 engine case sets and want to go ahead and acquire and assemble the bottom end on both. I was looking at several used crankshafts and saw that each one has a different case number like HM275B or HM242B ....and so on. What is the purpose of the number and is the same number supposed to be on the case to match the crankshaft properly?

Break out your shop manual and you will see that any CBX crank will work in any CBX case set. Just use the chart to determine the size of main bearings to use.
