Even though the engine is fixed solid to the jack it still looks like it will want to tip the jack over.

I dont have any drawings for these brackets. I would like to come up with a more universal idea that would work with all jacks. If any one wants the measurements they can send me a private email. I will be adding two 2 foot long support arms to the jack so it will be impossible for the engine to tip forwards. I have ordered two pieces of 1 1/4" square tubing and 2 small steel swivel castors for the ends of the arms.

Some jacks come with side wings to stop them from tipping.

That is just what I was thinking. That looks much safer. I am going to add 2 arms to my jack. Will post photos when done.

So I spent another $70 on my jack to add adjustable length 'outriggers' with steel swivel castors. So with the engine bolted to the jack pads front and back and the outriggers for stability, I feel that removing the engine should now be a safe, one man operation.

The jack will be much more stable in all use situations now

The big cost for doing this mod to my jack was for the metal and castors

I can't see any more ways to improve on this just now. Time to go to work on lowering the engine. Will post photos of the operation.

The lowering of the engine was amazingly worry free and a simple one man operation
