Cylinder temperature...

Post by Rohit »

Thanks for all your support....
I don't have temperature meter but i can notice that cylinder no.1 is very cold in comparison to other cylinders...
Any thoughts about that .,, what I am thinking is that it's not firing on idle rpm but starts as soon as I throttle .... Is this possible....

Yes it is possible. Clogged idle jets/passages in the carbs could be responsible for this. You can easily tell if a cylinder is firing by spraying water on the header. It should evaporate in a flash.
If the motor is not running on all cylinders, it could also aggravate the clutch noise you report in a different thread.

Rohit, They have to come apart more completely. Head over to the carburetors section and do some reading about clogged pilot jets. It's a pain in the neck but they will almost definitely have to be extracted. It's pretty much automatic for a bike that has sat carelessly stored.
