Compression Test

Post by RE5Guy »

Hi all,

I'm looking at purchasing a second '79 CBX. I have had the guy selling it do a compression test. On a warm engine he has reported back 5 @ 120psi and the other at 125psi. This is a long way off the 170psi + or - 14psi my book says.

The bike has 44,000km (about 30,000 miles) on it. The bike appears to be in very good condition and well maintained and I'm told doesn't use oil.

What are peoples thoughts?

thanks

Tony
