Cylinder head

Post by LamarX »

Hi all, I've acquired a cylinder head and all the valves were removed from it, someone else ventured and upon inspection I noticed someone thought they would gring a new seat for the valves, doesn't look good either.

I'm wondering if new valve seats are available anywhere, this is an 81 / 82 head. I hope this isn't now an ornament for discussion as the rest is in great shape.

Thanks, Marc Lamarche

I would think valve seats were available & could be refitted. Alas no contacts come to mind but I'm sure the others can help.... :thumupp:

I would also talk to a recognised "head shop"....

900 valves are a little oversize & the seats can be ground/cut to fit!!!..you gotta buy valves anyway!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The cam bearings checked out OK? - I wouldn't spend any time or money trying to fix the rest of it unless the cam bearings checked out well into the acceptible range
