cam question

Post by cbxtacy »

Are there marks on the cams to tell the difference between 79, 80, and 81/82 or do I have to measure the lobes. I have 3 or 4 sets and I'm curious what I have. Going through my boxes I found another 422 advancer I have also.

I don' think the numbers found on the camshafts will identify the cams as to what year they are from. You will have to measure the lobes, George.
There are 3 different lift intake cams: 79 - 8.3mm, 80 - 7.8mm and 81/82 -8.0mm, two different lift exhausts: 79,81/82 - 7.5mm and 80 -7.0mm
