I can only add that I have a new perception of fear.
The list of "What Ifs" going through my mind was long.
To see these two motorcycles together is really something
very difficult to find words for. I was an aerospace
prototype machinist for many years. From an experienced
eye, these bikes are incredible. The v12 is phenomenal.
Best,
Phil

And it looks like he'll be spinning the engine over this weekend. If all goesw well, we (me and Andreas) might hear it run. We had lunch the other day and were discussing problems there might be. If the bike runs okay, there's a coffee shop less then a mile from where he keeps the bike and the only running it will probably get is between the two. He's gonna start it up initially on a set of hot plugs (D7's) and with real cheap oil in it. Then he'll change the oil and filter to motorcycle oil. There are 2 coolers like on my bike (13 row) so hot oil shouldn't be a problem. One problem we've considered is mixture. His Ferrari powered bike the engine is layed down and the lower cyl's run lean while the upper cyl's run rich. Probably cause more of a problem with the CBX because the CBX is air cooled. I told him if it's a big problem, there's a simple solution. If there's room, redo the intake manifolds so where they're siamesed, put the ports side by side instead of above and bottom like they're now. :D I'll find and post a pic so you can see.

and here's the pic's of the intakes. There's quite a bit of room but there has to be room for the engine mounting brackets/bolts also.

And to think i was whining about the complexity of my '81 the other day.
A work of art, George.
Hopefully cameras will be rolling this weekend if you do get that beauty fired up.

These 'Why not . . . ?" projects are the BEST - Would you believe there's a guy on Miata forum who has managed to fit a Jaguar XKE V-12 into a Miata . . . . ?

Amazing!

Don
