Need help ASAP (Before noon, 12/08/2005) please!

Post by Seven »

I found this ( http://tinyurl.com/exbwk ) on ebay and have a question for you tech guys.

I bought a 1979 CBX off of ebay that had the hole in the lower crank-case, I got it for the frame, but now I am wondering if would be able to use this case to replace what was busted on the one I have. I know that I will need to replace some innards, but are all of the four years compatible as far as the cases go?

For $35-$40 I was thinking it would be hard to go wrong...

BUT, if it won't work then I have wasted my money.

Help!

Thanks - ~7~

I am not 100% positive but I do believe the crank case is the same down the line.

I know you can put an 82 engine in a 79 and a newer clutch assembly is another mod for the 79.

Engine cases

The only difference in the years of the crank cases is the location of the serial number. The earlier models had back starter, the later models has it up by piston #6. They are 100% interchangable.
