Best source to buy OEM valve cover gasket

Post by oroepke »

Good morning folks, I need to buy a new valve cover gasket and want to make sure I get the original part. Ebay seems a bit iffy, what's a good US source? Thanks!

I already called 2 dealers and they don't have it and say it's discontinued. Online places like Partzilla also don't have it.
CMSNL in Europe seems to have it but I am hoping to find one closer to home. If you have any leads you could share I'd appreciate it! Thanks!

I would look for a whole top end kit. It may be more money, but eventually the other parts will come in handy. I have bought parts from Sirius before and was always happy with the quality. I don't know about the top end gasket kit they have, but it may be fine.

From what I see on the forum, everyone seems to recommend original Honda only, so not sure if I want to go after market.

No idea why they insist on original Honda. Honda did not make the seal. And if you buy a original Honda seal it is probably NOS and at least 15 years old. Honda bought it from a supplier who still may sell it under their own name.
I used to work for an automotive parts supplier and we sold parts to many other vendors after the original OEM production ended and no contracts were in place anymore.

VC gasket not sold separately but an excellent kit. About 30% of it, I toss due to undetermined materials (o-rings, valve stem seals, etc).
