cam buckets

Post by relisysxx »

Hi all, Could some explain (photo would be good) the difference between the markings on the 'A' cam follower buckets and the 'B' type, I've looked at mine and can't see any difference (motor came in bits).
Thanks in advance.........Nick

Hi,

There are marks by the cutouts on the top surface of the bucket (the mark is like a grind mark which you can see when the light catches it).

A "B" bucket has a mark on one side of each cutout. The "A" bucket has a mark on both sides of each cutout.

Paul.

Unfortunately, the early model shop manuals don't make this clear. Here is a photo from the Pro-Link manual, that describes this very well.

Thanks, a lot clearer now, my head has all 'B's as it should have. Unfortunately most of the exhaust buckets seem a bit tight, am I right in thinking the 'B's are the looser of the two? Any other reasons for them being tight?

They are a tight fit. There is very little difference between A and B buckets.
