Looking for an engine rebuilder

Post by mrfreeze19delta »

Hey there all, I have a 1980 cbx1000 engine in need of rebuilding. I am currently located in the Vermont area and would like to find someone close if possible. I have a good budget to work with. I just don’t know any reputable sources.

Ditto on that recommendation.

Preston is excellent, but I'd also work with my friend (and the club's technical director) Dave McMunn in a heartbeat if he had the bandwidth. Dave is in Pennsylvania, not a terrible drive from Vermont.

I second Dave Mcmunn. He probably is your best choice. He will treat you right.

Would you know of a good engine rebuilder, or any garage that's familiar with old Honda motorcycles, in the Spanish Valencia region? The one project in my life that's more important than getting a CBX1000 these days is to buy one of these houses in Alicante for the holidays, and I'd like to combine both in the future.

Guys, you can try Dave. However, I know he is quite busy on several projects. II don't think he would take on any engine rebuilding. Carbs, yes. Engines, likely not. This side of the Mississippi, go with Preston Marks. He might be a bit loaded; but, if he will take your job, it will be done right.
