Forged H Beam Connecting Rods

Post by rperacing »

Hi,

New CBX conrods from RPE Racing. These are a direct OEM replacement and much stronger than stock. For those of you who have bigger bores (heavier pistons), higher revs or are just after a better than OEM rebuild, this is it!

Not as expensive as carrillo or pauter but just as strong.

These retail for 1050. However if you buy through here we will do 1000 and free shipping. Just send us a PM or post here.
They are also available on Ebay.

Specs:
4340 Forged Chrome Moly steel for highest strength
Shotpeened
H Beam design
Supplied with 200.000 psi 12 point high strength bolts
Bronze Bush little end
Stock (350g) vs RPE Racing (382g) vs Pauter (395g)

Please note also:
"Stock con rod bolts are not designed to be re-used! When tightened properly (and you should do that at any rate), they will stretch beyond their elastic limit. When re-used, they may come loosem, and if they do, it's a major havoc in your engine" - Satanic Mechanic

Nice, what piston kits are you using for your CBX modified motors and at what point do you justify the stronger con rods?

Thanks,

Thanks. Sexy indeed.

The piston kits are not commercially available (until now). It is our own combination, tried and tested on several bikes.

Regarding the conrod question, I would say that any road engine with a 1150 kit is pretty safe with the stock rods, that has been proven time and time again.

When we are talking about bikes that are ridden hard, either on the road or track, bikes with heavier big bore pistons, turning more rpm, etc... it all becomes a game of odds - they will hold for a while but you don't want to be there when they fail as they break crankcases, barrels, valves, pistons and even cranks. In a way it is cheap insurance.

Fresh out of the oven: 1400cc big bore kit - 74mm pistons, rods, headgasket and sleeves (not pictured)... This makes it plug and play, all it takes is some machining.

What do you think?
